Open Education Center in the United Republic of Tanzania

The Center for Open Education and Russian Language was opened in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) in 2023. This project was successfully implemented with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation. More than 150 residents of Tanzania had a unique opportunity to complete a full-time six-month Russian language course and reach the Elementary level, or A1 level (CEFR).

The project continues functioning in 2024 with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the My History Foundation.

After completing the course, students will be able to:

• Carry out basic communication within social, educational and sociocultural spheres;
• Solve basic communicative cases in a store, restaurant and cafe, at the doctor's, on the streets and in the classroom.

At the end of the training, students have the opportunity to take a free test in Russian as a foreign language – an international exam that gives an objective and complete picture of the results achieved.
